Card Show Haul - 1976 Hall of Famers
With the complete dearth of quality 71 high numbers at the show, I decided to knock off as much of my remaining needs for the 1976 set I started last fall. I made great progress, picking up around 70 cards. I am now down to needing 26 cards to finish the set. I still have some of the big stars to go (Aaron, Brett, Eckersley, Yount, Ryan, and Schmidt) but also a decent number of commons and minor stars. I am going to try and knock this one off in the next couple weeks. So, here are the Hall of Fame inductees that were part of my haul. This post is not going to be one of my best. I've had a low grade headache for the last couple days and I have been unable to dredge up what little creativity is inside of me. I have some ideas for future posts that may be actually interesting for the reader, so give me a chance.
Some folks really seem to like this card (*cough cough* Night Owl *cough cough*), but it really doesn't do much for me. He just looks like Pigpen to me.
See what I mean?
Grandpa! Too bad they didn't take a longer shot. I'd like to see if he was wearing an onion on his belt.
So, there they are. Next up will be cards from the subsets in 1976. After that, maybe we'll get into something interesting.

Great stuff, my all-time favorite set. I got a bit more to go than you. Good luck on completion. They sure don't make em' like they used to.
ReplyDeleteI love that Bench. So what's wrong with Pigpen anyway? What set is his card from. I need that one! ; )
ReplyDeleteMe thinks you're alone on Bench. But it's good to be different. At least that's what I tell myself.
